Food was super yummy and cozy!! Got the cashew curry & a tikka masala with rice & garlic naan & a chai. Everything was yummy and didn't take long all. The bread was nice and crispy too. Would come again

What a pleasant surprise! BEST Indian restaurant in SF, easily. I was just stewing here after an extremely hard day, wanting something to pull me out of the trench. Saffron Grill did the trick. And I cook from an Indian cookbook, get creative with herbs and spices, seeds, other ingreds. So it's really saying a lot when I say that the flavors are bright, fresh and just a whole lot of awesome. I am vegetarian. I had the Aloo Ghobi - one of my favorite dishes. Most restaurants do a thoroughly mundane job with the sauce (gravy), and rely on the veggies to carry the weight. Not here. The sauce is just bursting with flavor and character, worth eating on its own. With the veggies it's a delicacy. Papadum were nice and crisp - wish there were more to a single serving. Navratan Korma's luxurious, creamy cashew sauce, nicely done veggies, flavor that stays with you and puts a smile on your face long after the meal is done. Also got the mango chutney, sweet and delicious. Don't let the humble building and location fool you. I give them five stars - and a sixth if there were room on Yelp to do so. Thanks Saffron Grill!!

Enjoyed the relaxing lighting and atmosphere here. I enjoyed both the chicken biryani (which was a lot spicier than I expected for a medium, although the frequent yogurt refills helped a lot) and garlic naan which had just the right amount of crispiness and garlic flavor.
